Fire safety engineering
CERIB has played a very active role in France’s national fire safety engineering project (Projet National “Ingénierie de la Sécurité Incendie”) (2005-2011), as co-leader for scientific and technical aspects, together with French building research establishment CSTB and industrial technical centre for steel construction CTICM, and as the head of two of the seven work groups, one of which was in charge of the action “Fire-safety-engineering testing on new-build and rehabilitation projects”.
The Fire Testing Centre keeps track of the work of the various standardization groups in charge of fire-safety engineering (AFNOR ISI, CEN TC 127 WG8).
It carries out research and performs studies regarding the developpement of fire and the fire performance of works exposed to defined fire scenarios.
It produces reports on studies under the terms of Article 15 of the French ordinance on fire resistance of March 22, 2004 (amended).
